Broiled Lobster Tail is a quick and impressive dish that delivers sweet, succulent flavor and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Perfect for busy weeknights and special occasions.
Ingredients
4 units Lobster Tails (6–8 oz each)
4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (melted)
2 cloves Fresh Garlic (minced very finely)
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley (chopped for garnish)
Sea Salt & Black Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven: Move your oven rack to the top position, about 5-6 inches away from the heat source. Turn on the broiler to the 'High' setting and let it preheat for at least 5 minutes
- Butterfly the Tails: Use sharp kitchen shears to cut down the center of the top shell toward the tail fin. Stop just before reaching the fin. Gently spread the shell open and lift the meat upward, resting it on top of the shell
- Clean and Inspect: Check the meat for any dark veins or bits of shell. Rinse briefly under cold water if necessary and pat the meat completely dry with a paper towel
- Make the Seasoning: Whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl
- Brush the Meat: Place prepared tails on a baking sheet and generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the exposed lobster meat
- Broil to Perfection: Place the baking sheet under the broiler. Cook for approximately 1 minute per ounce of tail, aiming for 6 to 8 minutes for a 6-ounce tail
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with extra lemon wedges
Notes
Use an instant-read thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
Avoid overcooking to prevent the lobster meat from becoming rubbery.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
