Description

You’ve been lied to. Dessert is supposed to be an event, not a sad, store-bought cookie. This is the dessert people will beg you to make again. It’s a cheat code layered with creamy peanut butter, rich chocolate, sweet banana, and cozy textures, assembled in a trifle with zero baking skills required.

Ingredients

Scale

1 box (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix

2 cups cold milk

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed, divided

45 ripe bananas, sliced

1 box (15–20 oz) chocolate chip cookies or brownies, cubed

Optional: Chocolate shavings or crushed peanuts for garnish

Instructions

1. Whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk, then chill for at least 5 minutes.

2. Beat cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth, then add powdered sugar, followed by half the whipped topping; mix until uniform.

3. Layer half of the cookies/brownies in a trifle dish, followed by half the bananas, then half the peanut butter mixture.

4. Spread chilled chocolate pudding over that layer.

5. Repeat with remaining cookies/brownanas and peanut butter mixture.

6. Top with remaining whipped topping and garnish.

7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator—best eaten within 2–3 days.

To reduce banana browning, toss sliced bananas in lemon juice before layering.

Feel free to swap ingredients: try different cookies, pudding flavors, or nut butters for flavor variation.
