Description
A hearty, family-friendly dinner made with ground beef, thin-sliced potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup, all baked together in one dish.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
3 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup diced onions or bell peppers (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
2. Brown ground beef in a skillet, season, and drain excess fat.
3. Layer half the potatoes, then half the beef, and half the soup/milk mixture in the dish.
4. Repeat with remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
5. Cover with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes until potatoes are tender.
6. Uncover, sprinkle cheese, and bake another 10–15 minutes.
7. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can swap cream of mushroom for cream of chicken.
Add frozen veggies like peas or corn for extra nutrition.
Freezes well for up to 2 months in airtight containers.
