Ingredients
1 pound Sea Scallops
3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
4 cloves Fresh Garlic
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
Sea Salt to Taste
Black Pepper to Taste
2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley
Instructions
- Remove the scallops from the refrigerator about 15 minutes before cooking, rinse under cold water, and pat dry
- Season both sides of the scallops with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- Heat a large skillet over high heat and add the olive oil until shimmering
- Place the scallops in the pan without touching each other and let them sear for 2 minutes
- Flip the scallops once golden brown and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes
- Reduce heat to medium-low, add butter, and once melted, add minced garlic. Stir for 30-45 seconds until fragrant
- Baste the scallops with the garlic butter, add lemon juice and parsley, and remove from heat

Do not overcrowd the pan for a proper sear.
