Description

Heaven on Earth Cake is a no-bake dessert featuring a light sponge cake base topped with creamy vanilla custard and tart cherry filling, perfect for busy professionals seeking an impressive and easy treat.

1 loaf Angel Food Cake
1 package Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
1.5 cups Cold Whole Milk
1 cup Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
1 can Cherry Pie Filling
1 tub Whipped Topping (Cool Whip), thawed
1/4 cup Slivered Almonds


Instructions

  1. Cut the angel food cake into 1-inch cubes and place half in a 9×13 inch glass baking dish
  2. Spread two-thirds of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes
  3. In a bowl, whisk the instant pudding mix and cold milk for about two minutes until thick. Fold in the sour cream
  4. Pour the pudding mixture over the cherries and cake cubes. Add the remaining cake cubes on top
  5. Spread the whipped topping over the dessert and dot with remaining cherry pie filling. Sprinkle slivered almonds on top
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours before serving

Notes

Best made a day in advance as it tastes better after resting.
