1.5 cups Warm Water
2.25 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
1.5 teaspoons Sea Salt
1 teaspoon Honey or Sugar


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes foamy
  2. Gradually add the bread flour and sea salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5 to 8 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky
  4. Place the dough back into the bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes
  5. Gently punch the dough down and divide it into two equal portions. Shape into baguettes
  6. Place shaped loaves on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 20 to 30 minutes
  7. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and score the top of each loaf with diagonal slashes
  8. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brow
