Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

1 large yellow onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups elbow macaroni

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes

3 cups beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

1. Cook ground beef in a large pot until browned.

2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened.

3. Drain excess grease.

4. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.

6. Add uncooked macaroni; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

7. Optional: Stir in cheese until melted.

8. Taste and adjust seasoning; garnish with parsley.

Notes

To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes.

This goulash freezes well for up to 3 months.

Use ground turkey or veggie crumbles for a lighter version.
