Description
This Pineapple Agua Fresca delivers a bright, tropical flavor profile that balances natural sweetness with a zesty citrus kick. It's incredibly hydrating and refreshes without the sugar crash of store-bought beverages.
Ingredients
4 cups Fresh Pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped
4 cups Filtered Water, cold
2 tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
1–2 tablespoons Agave Nectar or Honey, optional
1/4 cup Fresh Mint Leaves, optional
Ice Cubes, as needed
Instructions
- Slice the top and bottom off the pineapple. Stand it upright and carefully cut away the skin. Remove the core and chop into rough 1-inch chunks until you have about 4 cups
- Place the pineapple chunks, 2 cups of the filtered water, lime juice, and preferred sweetener into a blender. If using mint, add it now. Blend on high for 60 seconds until completely liquefied and frothy
- If you prefer a very thin consistency, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. Use a spoon to press the pulp to extract all the liquid
- Pour the remaining 2 cups of water into the pitcher and stir vigorously to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if necessary
- Pour the drink into tall glasses filled with ice. Garnish with a fresh pineapple wedge or mint sprig
Notes
Use extremely cold water for immediate serving.
If the drink is too foamy, let it sit for 2 minutes to settle.
Including some of the pineapple core can increase health benefits.
